Hydratech Braking Systems is a company comprised of serious automotive performance enthusiasts. We have developed a retrofit kit for our own vehicles to solve a braking problem, and now offer it to the rest of the automotive world.

The muscle cars you see on these pages all run radical camshafts, and were factory equipped with vacuum powered brake assist units. This presented a substantial problem with overall braking at low engine rpm, due to inadequate vacuum supply to the brake booster. We have chosen instead to employ the use of a product that has been commonly available as a general automotive service part since 1974. A hydraulic brake assist unit is simply a category or class of a brake assist unit that relies on hydraulic pressure to provide brake assist power. As opposed to running a vacuum canister, or auxiliary vacuum pump, we chose to utilize an existing, time tested, alternate means of enjoying the benefits of power brakes. We have applied this type of brake assist in applications where it was originally unavailable from the OEM, in the form of a retrofit kit.

As consumers of the automotive aftermarket we have run across our fair share of substandard parts. When components like camshafts and carburetors fail, it really makes you lose faith in those suppliers.
